

Wanda Darnell Wienmeyer passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Friday, February 20, 2009 at the age of 63 years. Wanda is lovingly remembered by her husband of forty-three years Paul and her two children Shanna and Darrin. Wanda is also remembered by her sisters Darlene Watkins, Lee (Ken) Aldous, Sheree (Jim) Elder, Greg (Debbie) Harris, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her “adopted” daughter and granddaughter Chrissy and Brittany Swan. Wanda was predeceased by her parents Laura and Tink Harris. Wanda was born in Virden, Manitoba on October 7, 1945. In 1964 Wanda moved with her parents to Shaunavon, SK, where she met the love of her life Paul. In 1968 Paul and Wanda moved to Calgary where numerous friends were made including her best friend Bonnie whom she met working at Dome Petroleum. During her life she made many friends and always had time for laughter and her animals. Wanda enjoyed crafting and often fulfilled her “orders” with pride and fun. She loved to travel and correspond with political dignitaries often explaining how they were incorrect in their actions. Wanda will be sadly missed. Those wishing to pay their respects did so at a visitation at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, February 27, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A Celebration of Wanda’s Life was held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 2T7.
