Wendy Sau Lan Wong

Born on November 19, 1929, in Hoi Ping, China, she was the youngest of eight children of Gee Yi Dian and Chang Mei Lan. Wendy worked in Hong Kong for eight years prior to immigrating to Canada, where she worked over forty years at the Calgary Inn. In the mornings, she would prepare the meals, clean the house and send her children off to school. Wendy would then work late into the night at the Calgary Inn and start the whole routine again early the next morning.

Wendy was well revered for sponsoring many family members to Canada. Today, many of these nieces and nephews have prospered and raised families of their own with successful children. Wendy would often support these families as well as hers by watching grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews so their parents could work and save on childcare. Many have fond memories of shopping or riding the bus with her. Wendy never truly understood the life-changing impact she had on so many families and individuals.

She was a kind, generous, spirited and determined woman, to the benefit of all who knew her.

Wendy is preceded by her husband, Wing Sang Wong, and her daughter, Nora Chan. She is survived by her son-in-law, Terry; four daughters Tina, Janice (Peter), Shawna (Szilard), and Cynthia; twelve grandchildren Richard, Stephanie (Chi), Jonathan, Allen, Jennifer (Sean), Veronica, Nicholas, Simon, Daniel, Christopher, Caitlyn and Callen; and five great-grandchildren Josephine, Sophia, Hana, Mason and Aubree.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 1:00pm at Foster’s Garden Chapel, located at 3320 – 4 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta. Reverend Bill Mang will be officiating. Following the service, Wendy will be laid to rest at Queen’s Park Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta.

黃秀蘭女士，本名朱仲好女士，於2026年6月10日(星期三)在家人的陪伴下，於加拿大阿爾伯塔省卡加利市Foothills醫療中心安詳離世，享年96歲。

她在1929年11月19日出生於中國開平，是朱義典和張美蘭夫婦八個孩子中最小的一個。在移民加拿大之前，黃秀蘭女士曾在香港工作八年。移民加拿大後，她在 Calgary Inn 入職四十多年。每天早上，她都會準備飯菜、打掃房子，然後送孩子上學。之後，她會在Calgary Inn 工作到深夜，隔天清晨又會重複同樣的流程。

黃秀蘭女士因擔保多位家人移民加拿大而備受尊敬。如今，她眾多姪子姪女都事業有成，組織了自己的家庭，兒女雙全。Wendy經常幫忙照顧孫子、侄孫女、侄孫，讓他們的父母可以安心工作，節省托兒費用，從而支持這些家庭以及她自己的家庭。許多人都對和她一起購物或搭乘公車的美好回憶記憶猶新。Wendy生前從未真正意識到她對這麼多家庭和個人的生活產生了多麼深遠的影響。

她是一位善良、慷慨、熱情、堅韌的女性、所有認識她的人都從中受益。

黃氏秀蘭女士的丈夫黃永生和女兒陳黄少颜已先她而去。她過身後留下女婿陳紹正；四個女兒：黄少濃、黄淑𡞵及女婿Peter、黄淑娜及女婿Szilard、黄淑明；十二個孫輩：陳德仁及妻子Leigh、陳美玲及女婿Chi、Jonathan、Allen、Jennifer及女婿Sean、Veronica、Nicholas、Simon、Daniel、Christopher、劉青樺、劉昌樺；還有五位曾孫：Josephine、Sophia、Hana、Mason 跟 Aubree。

安息禮將於2026年6月22日（星期一）下午1時在科士打殯儀館舉行 3220–4 Street N.W.,Calgary， 儀式由孟彪牧師主持。儀式結束後，Wendy將安葬於皇后墓園。
