

Bill was born in Fallis, AB and grew up in Alberta, the eldest of five. He enlisted in 1943 attaining the rank of Captain in the Royal Canadian Engineers, Reserve Army. Bill met and married Dorrie and together they raised four children. Bill graduated Civil Engineering, University of Alberta in 1954, beginning his career in Edmonton. He joined the Federal Government, Department of Transport designing airport terminals domestically and internationally. His career took him from Edmonton to Ottawa, where he gained passion for sailing and skiing, and then to Calgary.
Bill retired in 1986 with a White-Hat Ceremony. In his retirement he put his heart and soul into his passion for airplanes by volunteering at the Calgary Aerospace Museum. Bill was a gentle man who lived life well.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, Jacques Chapel, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Calgary Aerospace Museum.
