14 January 1946 – 10 July, 2025
With deep sorrow and abiding love, we celebrate the life of Witold Lupa, a man whose heart was as generous as his spirit was joyful.
Born in Łobżenica, Poland, Witold was the youngest of five siblings. Tragically, he never had the chance to meet his mother, who passed away just three hours after his birth. His eldest sister, who was 18 at the time, stepped in as a motherly figure and raised him alongside their father, teaching him the values of love, resilience, and compassion.
Witold’s journey took him from Szczecin, where he studied, to Bydgoszcz, and eventually to Germany for several years. Upon his return to Poland, he worked as a teacher, sharing his knowledge and guiding the next generation.
A true lover of music, Witold played both the guitar and piano, and was a member of a local music band where he played bass guitar. His love for music remained a constant throughout his life, even after moving to Canada in 1989. There, he carried his passion for music within his home, filling it with melodies and joy.
In addition to his musical talents, Witold was a gifted craftsman. He built a garage with his sons, renovated the kitchen, and even crafted a bedroom set, always finding joy in creating and improving his surroundings.
Witold’s love of travel took him to many places around the world. He visited Cuba, where he felt a deep connection to the works of his favorite novelist, Ernest Hemingway. His travels also led him to the Moon and Sun Pyramids in Mexico, a place that captivated his imagination. But no matter where he went, he was always eager to hop in the car for a road trip to the mountains, where he found peace and beauty.
To his wife of 53 years, Witold was not only a loving husband, but also her best friend, her steadfast partner, and the great love of her life. Their bond was built on deep respect, shared joy, and unwavering loyalty.
To his family, Witold was a constant source of love, encouragement, and pride — a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. His optimism and strength inspired all who knew him.
Witold’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. His kindness, joy, and love remain with us, now and always.
Forever in our hearts.
