It is with heavy hearts that the family of Zona Jeanette Kinnunen announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the age of 84 years. Zona is lovingly remembered by her five children Mark (Betty) Peterson, Vicki (Ken) Peterson, Trudy (Glen) Nyhus, Bill (Debbie) Kinnunen, Tammy Kinnunen; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one elder brother Lemont Leavitt. She was predeceased by two brothers, her first husband Lemar Peterson in 1953, and her second husband William Kinnunen in 1998.
Zona was born in Cardston on April 25, 1932. Zona loved her family more than anything. She never missed a sport or activity of her family members. If it was important to her family it was important to her.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Zona’s memory directly to the EMS Foundation, (100, 3705 35 Street NE) or to STARS, (1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570 Calgary AB T2E 8M7).
