She will be deeply missed by husband of 54 years, Manuel Da Cunha, her children; Valdemira, Helen (John), and Danny (Lori), and her grandchildren Christopher (Veronique), Trevor (Crystal), Brayden, Chloe, Mateo and Lilianna, and by her great grandson Kayden. She is predeceased by her parents Adelina and João Bettencourt, her sister Maria Espinola and her brother Jose Bettencourt.
A visitation to honour Diamantina will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge. A vigil prayer service will take place that evening at 6:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 12:15 PM at St. Clement’s Parish, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge. Following the Mass, Diamantina will be laid to rest in a peaceful entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Lisaard House, who cared for Diamantina with kindness and compassion. Donations can be made in Diamantina’s honour to Lisaard House Hospice and the Canadian Cancer Society.
