On Monday, December 12, 2016, at the age of 91, Donald Cole passed away peacefully at Riverbend Place in Cambridge. Don was born and raised in Montreal and moved to Cambridge in September, 1965. He served in the Army (D147551 Regiment) and managed United Last in Cambridge for over 20 years before retiring. Don was a member of the Cambridge PROBUS and St. John’s Anglican Church. He loved to garden and golf, and play shuffleboard with his friends. Don also had a great voice and loved to sing. He will be dearly missed by his sister Marjorie McCambridge (Thomas) of Montreal, Quebec, his nephews Michael McCambridge of Montreal and Kevin McCambridge of Toronto, and his long-time friends Jean and Don Young and family of Cambridge. Don was predeceased by his wife, May Cole (nee McEnroe) and is now reunited with her in heaven. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, ON, 519-653-3251) on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church (567 Queenston Road, Cambridge, ON) on Thursday, December 22 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception following in the church hall. Private interment at New Hope Cemetery will follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Lisaard House or St. John’s Anglican Church.
