Entered peacefully into rest at her home on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Beloved wife of Harold Kinzie since 1960. Cherished mother of Mark (Carol), Ian, and Peter (Kathryn). Proud grandmother of Tyler and Sara. Predeceased by her daughter Ann Louise and brother Walter Pettersen.
Dorothy was an avid quilter, sewer, and seamstress, which she enjoyed teaching primarily at the Sewing Circle. Her quilts and wall-hangings were sold as souvenirs, and at the Mennonite Relief Sale for charity. For many years, Dorothy and Harold fostered children providing a loving and safe home.
As you remember Dorothy, please reflect on Psalm 23 and Psalm 84, and listen to the hymns “In the Bulb There is a Flower,” “Beyond a Dying Sun,” and “In the Sweet By & By.”
Visitation will be held at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge) on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at Hagey Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s honour to the Mennonite Central Committee.
