George was born and raised in Preston. As a lifelong resident George's life was interwoven into the fabric of Preston. He was a member of the Preston Scout House Band, volunteered for the local Food Bank and Friday morning curling. George loved sports and over the years participated on many sports teams. He enjoyed golfing but his true love was curling at the Galt Curling club where he formed lasting friendships.
George was a quiet, friendly man who valued family, friends and community. He was a man of integrity, honesty, kindness and was very well respected.
George and Betty were blessed with close, lifelong friendships.
George was known to collect "many things" in the event someone could use them.
One of his greatest joys was watching his Grandson's Jonathan and Brad play sports and participate in school activities. Later in life he enjoyed spending time with his great Granddaughters Vivian and Everly.
George was fond of sharing family meals with Shirley where they reminisced about the past.
Cremation has taken place with Barthel Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Galt Curling Club at a later date.
