Betty was a loving, thoughtful, fun, and caring person. She had many hobbies, such as knitting, bowling, and card playing, and she travelled to many parts of the world over the course of her life. Betty enjoyed her gin and fresca, loved dogs, and cherished all the time she spent with her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Judy Wiegand, son Ron Haddaway (Nancy), grandchildren Melissa Sockett, Murray Wiegand (Anita), Geoff Haddaway (Alison), and Angela Neal (Jason), and her great-grandchildren Rebecca and Lucas Haddaway, Drake Neal, Jarrid and Ellie Sockett, and Jordan and Jeremy Wiegand. Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry Haddaway (1982), son-in-law Wayne Wiegand (2016), siblings Alberta, Muriel, Allan, Charles, Kenneth, and Bobby, and her parents Charles and Ida Scherrer. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Fairview Retirement Suites, CMH, LHiN, and Care Partners for all the kind and compassionate care they gave to Betty. A private prayer service will be held for the immediate family, and interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church or the Fairview Senior’s Community.
