Josh was a kind and gentle soul who befriended those who lived near him.
He was a Lac Seul Ojibway born in the 1970s, a time that was not kind to our First Nations people. Josh bounced around foster care as a child, and has a scattering of siblings as a result. He leaves behind his Ojibway siblings David, Sammy, Randy, Alma and Bea, as well as a daughter and grandson who live in Kansas. Those of us who knew Josh best in his last years were his neighbours. He could often be spotted fishing on the Grand River from his back yard or stoking up a fire and inviting friends to join. Josh’s other hobbies included mixing music for his online radio station, handiwork around the yard, and drinking famously weak coffee all day long. Josh was a light hearted guy who wasn’t afraid to laugh with others and at himself. We’ve lost him far too soon, but we can take solace in knowing that his beautiful nomadic soul can finally be at rest.
