Mary Grace Gibb

Mary Grace Gibb was called home October 21, 2026, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by her children Stephanie Nykamp (Mike Philp) and Mark Nykamp (Colleen McCabe), and her grandchildren Ian and Ella (Nykamp).

Mary dedicated her life to her family, faith (Knox Preston), and community. During her career as a nurse at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, she provided care and comfort to many people.

A devoted grandmother, Mary was actively involved with Ian and Ella in their earlier years and an important part of their lives. Her participation extended into their classrooms as a valued volunteer at Westvale Public School in Waterloo.

Mary leaves us with these parting thoughts: “I do not wish you to mourn. Life is for the living. My role was only to give you the values and strengths to live every day.” Mary’s values and strengths go on in the hearts and minds of her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Following Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or formal memorial service. In her words: “life is for the living”. Donations in honour of Mary can be made to the Cambridge Food Bank (cambridgefoodbank.org).
