Mavis leaves behind her beloved husband Tim Oakley, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. She was a cherished mother to Darrell Oakley (Alison) and Aimee Oakley (Daniel McIntosh), a loving grandma to Jordan, Ainzleigh, and Riley, and a great grandma to two. Mavis was predeceased by her parents, Aime and Dorothy Jodoin.
Despite the challenges that came with her last few years, Mavis always kept her strong spirit. She was happiest spending time with the people she loved, and her memory will be cherished always.
Mavis’ family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses from ParaMed, the PSWs from CarePartners, and the doctors at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care they provided. They would also like to acknowledge Uncle Mike for all of his unwavering support.
Mavis’ life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24th at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow, where food, refreshments and memories will be shared in Mavis’ honour. Mavis will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at a later date.
