Michael Leversidge of Cambridge, Ontario passed away suddenly surrounded by the love of his family at Cambridge Memorial hospital on October 22, 2018 in his 79th year. Born in Sheffield, England on April 17, 1939, he immigrated to Canada at the age 14. Michael was predeceased by his parents Harry and Winnifred Leversidge, brothers - Colin and Brian Leversidge.
Left to celebrate his life are his ‘Special Love of his life’ Genevieve Quilty; Children - Susan Beirens (Mike), Ann Hogan, John Leversidge (Mary), Lisa Leversidge (Rob); Grandchildren - Amanda Asher (Chris), Derek Beirens (Stephanie), Melanie Sousa (Paul), Jennifer Hogan (Eric), Hilary, Adam, and Nicole Leversidge; Great Grandchildren - Braiden, Jerica, Liam, Callum, Owen, Oliver, and Bronte. Sister - Elaine Sharkey (Al), Brother - Gord Leversidge (Sheila), Sister-in-law June Leversidge; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members - Albert, Judy (John), Cindy (Rick), Geoff (Merica) and Mike Hogan.
Michael was a long time member of the Preston Scout House and took great pride in sharing his stories and memories about his scout house adventures in his youth.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Michael’s life will be held on November 11, 2018 at the Newfoundland Club (1500 Dunbar Rd, Cambridge, ON N1R 6V3) from 2:00 - 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
