Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026 surrounded by his family. Survived by his beloved wife Aida for 64 years. Loving father of Rui (Leanne), Paul (Alice), and Peter (Wendy). Proud grandfather of Katrina (Chris), Nicole (Kevin), Darren (Yvonne), Jason, Melissa (Jordan), and Sophie. Cherished great-grandfather of Jack and Julia. Renato will be dearly missed by many family friends, both locally and in Portugal.
Renato was a resident of Cambridge since 1973. His life was guided by faith and was a devoted family man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Renato was a long-time parishioner of St. Clements Church.
The family would like to thank everyone for their messages of support and heartfelt condolences.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement’s Church (745 Duke Street, Cambridge) on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The family welcomes you to join them for a reception following Mass at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
