Richard James McCurdy

He will be remembered by his children, Douglas McCurdy (Danielle) and Cheryl Sproul (Jeremy), grandchildren; Payne, Paige, Aiden, Aubrey and Owen. Rick is also survived by his former wife, Ann (Angela) Howe, mother of their children.

He was predeceased by his parents, Aubrey and Mary and siblings; Peg and John.

Rick was a proud resident of Preston and enjoyed sharing his many fond memories. He also lived in Kitchener then moved to Oshawa for many years before coming back to Kitchener in his final year. He was a passionate florist and owner of Aubrey McCurdy Flowers Ltd., sharing his talents with the community for many years. In his younger years, Rick was an active member of the Cambridge Jaycees, where he was involved in community connection and professional development. He was also involved in charitable work with the Cambridge Masons. Rick was known for his sarcasm and humour, even in his final months, he continued to share that with those around him.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time.

The family wishes to extend appreciations to the caring staff at the Bowmanville Hospital and Forest Heights Long Term Care Home.
