Robert Edward Coughlin

June 20th, 1939 – May 21st, 2014

Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Joyce Coughlin; father of Tim Coughlin (Karen) and Kathy Herner (Tim), Grandfather of Jody Parkinson (Shawn), Christine Herner, Cory Coughlin (Amanda), Marissa Herner, Colin Coughlin; great grandfather of Abby Parkinson, Jack Parkinson, Kaylee Coughlin and brother to Tom Coughlin (Mave) and Judy Dewaele (Roger). He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Ruth Coughlin. He was a lifetime member of St. Clements Parish and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was retired from an enjoyable career at Canada Post. He had a passion for gardening and was known for sharing his abundance of seasonal vegetable with family and friends. Many knew him as the “cucumber man”. In his earlier years, he felt the most home on top of the pitching mound and played for many teams in the Cambridge Area. In his later years, he switched his sporting skills and mastered the game of billiards. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge, on May 31st, 2014 at 11am. Following the Mass, the family invites you to join them for a visitation and reception to be held in the cultural hall. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
