Passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 93. Predeceased by his first wife Barbara Rapson, and will be deeply missed by his current wife of 13 years, Ellen Rapson. Cherished father of Denise, and step-father of Kim (Jason). Proud grandfather of Brittany, Ashton, Deven, and Calandra, and step-grandfather of Courtney and Paige. Loved great-grandfather of three.
Roger will be remembered as a proper Southern gentleman.
Visitation will be held at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge) on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
