Ruby Mary McCartney passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the age of 70. Ruby was an outgoing and funny woman who brought joy to her family. She worked at Dimplex for over 20 years and was a member of the Steelworkers Association. She was a self-described “Owl Lady” and loved to collect owl figurines. Ruby will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years George McCartney, and their daughter Tanya. She is also survived by her sisters Julia Murphy, Shirley Delaney, and Rowena Robinson, her brothers Calvin and Rendell Vokey, and many nieces and nephews. Ruby was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Edith Vokey, brothers Gordon and Ernie Vokey, and sisters Evelyn Regular and Viola Normore. As per Ruby’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation in her memory.
