Janet & Ron - So sorry to hear of the loss of your father.  You were so very lucky to have had him and his influence for this long.  Our fathers had a common thread in their friendship.  While our dad, Doug was a little older, both were pitchers on various teams back in the day, and dad never failed to mention this after we'd bump into Bill while out shopping or wherever.  Another good “Preston Boy” has left us.

Grandpa,

I will never forget the pool parties,  sleepovers,  and learning  how to play euchre with you and grandma (I'm a  pro now).  I will always remember the fun Christmas parties and family celebrations I had with you, they were always filled with joy and laughter. I will cherish  these memories and keep them close to my heart.  I am very grateful for your kindness, generosity, support  and wisdom over the years.  Love you always and forever!

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Franks family . I had the upmost respect for Bill as a husband and father I witnesssd the love and support he had for his family . He was a very smart man and a very fair man . Bill always treated me with respect and graciously welcomed me into there home . Bill loved the dog scruffy I gave him and Marion  and that dog was spoiled. It was a pleasure to of gotten to know him R.I.P Bill. 

There are so many shared memories of my grandfather as a generous, thoughtful and warmhearted man from those who knew him best because that is truly the man he was in life.  A true patriarch to our family, his generosity of both his time and resources was without limits and he went out of his way to see that all in his family were provided for.  He was present for so many milestones in our lives, always there and always sharing his time.
I have so many fond memories of my grandfather as a child;  weekend sleepovers with my cousin, afternoons at the pool, boys camping trips and snuggling up at night with a movie.  He lived a long and full life and it fills my heart to know that my own children share memories of him at family get togethers and also got to know him for the sweet vibrant man he was. You are gone but not forgotten.

Thank you is what I have to say to you  two simple words.  

You have been a very big shinning star in my children's lives, your grandchildren Ron and Shannon...  you  gave them your strength, love and support throughout their live.... you were their pillar of support when things were crazy in their father's and my life, and you never stopped.

What do you say to a man who lived such a balanced and full life and never once stopped loving his family. 

You will be truly missed by all,  but your spirit and support and love will live on forever within 2 of your grandchildren whom I can say for sure LOVE YOU WITH ALL THEIR HEARTS.  and I know that you will always been their GUARDIAN ANGEL.

The world lost a strong, giving, caring, loving man who did everything for his family. 

There aren't many childhood memories that don't involve Grandpa! He picked my brother and I up every day from school, was at every event without having to ask. He always made sure we were all well taken care of and loved. 

I was lucky enough to have him be a huge part of my children's lives as well as my own. I remember how excited he was when I told him my youngest was going to play hockey. Despite his sight almost being gone he asked me if I could pick him up and bring him to his game. He stood right at the glass and watched every second with a smile on his face. When my oldest told him he loved music and was starting guitar lessons, he was right there asking him to bring it over and play him a song and he would tell him how great he was doing, even though his hearing was going. My boys loved spending time with him, they looked up to him and loved him very much.

I will always remember one of my last conversations with him. With him no longer being able to see or hear he didn't always know it was me at first, unless I brought the boys with me then he knew right away. He told me he was proud of me and of the boys I am raising. Even when his days weren't that great and he was struggling himself, he was still reminding us that we are loved and cared for.

The world has lost an incredible man. My grandfather Bill Franks is someone I have always and will continue to strive to be. He inspired me to be a good father, husband and person. He was loyal to his friends and never let anyone go without. I remember growing up playing hockey. A game never went by when I looked up in the stands and saw you there watching, you were my number one fan. I remember you picking me up from school every day, driving all over the country side for hockey tournaments, taking me to the train station when I joined the military and calling you collect every night telling you how my day went. I remember going through tough times in battle school and wanting to give up. The one thing that kept me going was seeing you at my graduation and how proud you were going to be of me. But the most memorable moment of all was when you stood as my best man at my wedding. I was so honoured you did that for me and will always be greatful for that. I love you with all my heart and will keep you close for as long as live.
