She was predeceased by her husband Rev. Vernon Smith, her two daughters Marilyn and Barbara, a grandchild Michael and a son-in-law Danny. She leaves behind her daughter Eleanor (Michael), her son Jim (Claire), Marilyn’s partner Mike, her grandsons Jamie (Heidi), Christopher, David (Alicia) and two great grandchildren that she cherished and loved very much, Ben and Cece. To her grandchildren she was always known as “Gummie” and to her great grandchildren she was “Gigi”.

Beth was a teacher in her earlier years and then decided to be a stay at home mom. She had many hobbies. One of her favourites was the summer home that she shared with her husband Vernon. Everybody referred to it as “The Farm”. Lots of friends and family members shared so many wonderful memories while visiting them. That’s where she actually started as a bee keeper, a hobby that she did for quite a few years. Beth also loved gardening, loved travelling and loved to read. But mainly, she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Being such a kind and gentle person, she will be greatly missed by so many.

A funeral service for Elizabeth will be held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Thursday, August 20 at 2:00 pm.

The family will welcome family and friends at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
