Joel James Troy McNaughton

Joel was born on September 8, 1988 in Campbellton, NB to the late

Richard Gray and Kimberly McNaughton.

Joel was loved by all who knew him, he loved swimming in the Matapedia River at the Landing or at the Rafting Grounds on the Restigouche. He would spend days as a child picking fiddleheads or cruising with his parents in his dad’s boat. He had a passion for looking for gold in the surrounding areas and was a person who could cook food even when lacking ingredients! He loved spending time with family and friends and loved all animals especially his cat Lola who was by his side through thick and thin. Joel was interested in so many things and loved to learn and figure things out. He could make people laugh without trying and was wise for a man at the tender age of 38. He went to Newfoundland when he was 14 and visited L'Anse aux Meadows with classmates and teachers. He kissed the cod and still talked about it all these 24 years later. He loved music and could Rap and Rhyme so well his friends were absolutely impressed! He loved the city of Montreal which he had visited many times and met a lot of genuine people. One thing we will never forget is when Joel would pray To Saint Anthony of Padua who is famous as the patriot of lost items, the misplaced item would appear. Joel will be greatly missed! Forever 38.

Besides his brother Zack McNaughton, he is survived by many uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Friends and His Beloved Cat Lola. He was predeceased by his Father Richard Gray, his maternal Grandparents James McNaughton & Maxine Firth McNaughton and his paternal Grandparents Lawrence Gray & Constance Bolton Gray, also by his Uncles Larry McNaughton, Robert McNaughton and Patrick McNaughton.

Respecting the family’s choices, there will be no funeral service but instead a celebration of life, date to be announced.
