Joyce Velma Morrison

Joyce was born in Dawsonville on June 17, 1934, to Elmer and Dolly (Kaine) Craswell.

She is survived by her six children David (Evelyn) Morrison, Sharon Morrison, Carol (Angus) Smith, Billy Morrison, Charlene (Drew) Horn and Cathy Morrison; her grandchildren Kris (Laurie) O’Connell, Dusty, Ryan & Kyle O’Connell, Melissa Smith (Jamey Windley), Jennifer & Kerry Smith, Angela (Jason) Wittig, David Morrison, Hannah & Josie Horn and Logan Morrison; her great-grandchildren Brynn & Brody O’Connell, Madison & Jenna Wittig; her brother Joely (Ruby) Craswell and sister Donna (Craig) Carmen; sister-in-law Carrie Lyons, brothers-in-law George Morrison and Bert Cole along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John, siblings Lawson (Donna) Craswell, Neta & baby Jimmy Craswell; son-in-law Lewis Irvine; sisters-in-law Ann (Ken) Thurston, Emma (Bert) Cole, Arlene (George) Morrison; nephew Blaine Thurston & stepmother Beulah Firth Craswell.

Mum had a quiet strength and deep faith that enabled her to keep her sense of humour through her life. She led by example and is an inspiration to us all. She loved a field of dandelions, the sound of frogs at night and crows (even when someone told her they were not a quality bird). And as her father before her, she retired at the young age of 80 from working on the river.

Funeral Service to be held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St, Campbellton, Tuesday, May 26th at 2 pm with visitation from 1 pm until time of funeral.

Visitations will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne Street in Campbellton on Monday, May 25th from 7 to 9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Pallbearers are grandsons Kris, Dusty, Ryan & Kyle O’Connell and David Morrison Jr and Logan Morrison.

Honorary Pallbearers are granddaughters Melissa, Jennifer & Kerry Smith, Hannah & Josie Horn; Angela Wittig; sons-in-law Angus Smith & Drew Horn and daughter-in-law Evelyn Morrison.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Campbellton.
