

She was born March 2, 1917 in Piapot, Saskatchwan, to the late Edward Richard McFarland and the late Dorothy Collins
She spent most of her childhood on the prairies with her family and beloved sister Pat and received her education in Alberta,where she became a licentiate in music pedagogy from the Toronto Conservatory of Music/The Royal Conservatory of Music(England) and received a Bachelor in Education. She excelled in both her school studies and piano and later built on these talents for her successful career as a teacher in Alberta and New Brunswick.
She began teaching in Calgary for the public school system, and, by the time she retired, had oversight of regional primary developments for the New Brunswick education system.
Soon after coming to Campbellton as a teacher she was introduced to a young newspaperman named Roderick Raymond who became the love of her life.
Kathleen enjoyed many hobbies and was very knowledgeable about art and history. She and husband Rod had a great interest in politics.
Kathleen is survived by a son, Terry, 53 of Campbellton, his wife Heather Allan, and sister Patricia Moran of London, England. She is also survived by sister-in-law Patricia Hart of Halifax, nieces Maureen Moran, Pamela DeWulf, Linda Jones, Catherine Baur, Laura Maharaj and Nephew John Hart.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, step-mother Ada Gardiner, and husband Roderick M. Raymond in 1993.
Funeral services were at St. Thomas Aquinas church on Saturday September 22, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. Interment was in the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Cemetery.
