Margaret touched my life at such at a tender age. The first time I moved away from home and lived away from my mom. She was there for me at very shaky situations I went through with the families I lived with and at school. At 15 I was really only starting to figure things out out of my childhood and into my teenage years and I always felt like Margaret and her home were a safe space for me. She made the best grill cheese I’ve ever had and playing with her dog made me so happy, specially since back then I wasn’t allowed to have dogs. I’ve been thinking a lot this past couple days about how many people like me Margaret had an impact in, she took care of hundreds of international students during the years she worked for the program and she made sure we were all safe and taken care of as well as planned all of this amazing activities and trips for us to have fun and experience Canada to the fullest. I truly think that will be Margaret’s legacy, besides her family, there’s hundreds of young adults roaming the world now that got to spend a couple months of their life in this little Canadian town and Margaret was the person that kept them safe and regulated their overall well being, i know I will never be able to forget her and I believe a lot of this people will not either. She will always have a special place in my heart as she made a mark at such an important and life changing year for me. This photo is from one of the last days I was in campbellton and the last group activity we went on climbing the Sugarloaf mountain. I will always remember her with her little dog following her around and with a beautiful smile on her face, she fought a brave battle and I hope she’s in peace knowing what an impact she had on this world. My deepest condolences to mark and the rest of her family, forever grateful to have crossed paths with her and to have been able to see her again in 2016.

Margaret you will always be my Canadian mom. I first met you when I was in 7th grade. I was so young coming into an unknown place but you shared a home and a place with me where I felt comfort and love. I am so thankful for having met you and Mark. You both changed my life for the better and I’m so thankful to have been a part of your life.

Margaret was always so friendly with me. We chatted about books at times, or life events. A wonderful person, so kind and pleasant. She will be missed and remembered. 

I've never used this term before, but heaven gained an angel when Margaret left this earth. Always smiling, always positive, and always a proud 4th Ranger. She always went out of her way to speak to me when we met up, she was so humble but yet you could see the pride of her family and just her life in general coming out of every pore. I hope that her family never forgets how much she loved them, and loved life. She was truly one of a kind and will be missed by so many. Fly high, Margaret, and we'll see you on the other side one day. 

My dear Margaret,

You where always such a kind and loving person. True compassion and joy define your carácter. You always had the wisdom and trust  to give us the freedom and the bases so we could become good people. The ones who know you know that in spite of being a decisive person  you also made sure to spread the love through your cooking and gifts. You will leave a whole in this world. I know you did your part in the world. You touched the lives of many kids all over the world, and you taught us a true Canadian experience. You will always be my Canadian mama. And I’ll always carry you with fond memories. Like I always said, thank you for being a crucial part of my life. I always wish to send my kids with you. However I think I’ll have to teach them all that I learnt with you guys. Miss you lots and forever in gratitude.
