

Bobby was born on August 23, 1970 in Methen, Massachusetts. He was the cherished son of Dorothy Barnaby Tonkin and Robert Wayne Tonkin Sr., both of whom predeceased him.
He was raised in Listuguj, QC, and Hartford, CT, and worked as a construction worker and logger.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Mildred Metallic, and his nieces Cassandra Hall (Gregory Wysote), Danielle Root and her daughter Gabby, and Natasha Riley Root (Jessie Riley Root). He was predeceased by his siblings Carol Ann Tonkin, Michelle Root, and Floyd Tonkin, and his nephew Adam Root. In addition to their immediate family, Bobby is also survived by many beloved cousins and friends who shared in the joy and love of their life. Their close bonds and fond memories will always be cherished by Bobby’s bold personality and infectious sense of humour made him unforgettable. He was known for his catchphrase, “Good morning, some B’s!”, and loved road trips, reggae music, ski-dooing, and four-wheeling. He found joy in the simple things, especially his bologna sandwiches and Diet 7Up.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at Mahers Chapel Friday May 23rd at 2:00 PM for gathering, service will begin at 3:00 PM.
