Rose was born on Sunday, April 23, 1939 in Listuguj, QC to the late Mary Jane Jacques and the late Richard Barriault. She was raised by her adoptive mother, the late Mary McDonald.
Rose was a woman of strength, kindness, and a loving heart who cared greatly for her family and friends. Whether she was running the roads, baking her famous homemade bread and pies, or welcoming family and friends into her home, she always found ways to show how much she cared. Rose touched many lives throughout her 87 years, and those who knew her will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and the love she had for her family and friends. She leaves behind many cherished memories and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Morley Sook. She is survived by her children Juella (Roger), Lorna (Don), and Myrna (George); her grandchildren Zachary, Jesse, Sarah, Walter, Laura and Kristen; and her great grandchildren Jayce, Weston, Dawson, Navie, Penelope, Zeze and Elio.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many, many friends.
Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her brothers Joe, Victor, Richard, David and Henry and also by her sister Lina.
A Celebration of Life for Rose will be held at the Listuguj Community Development Center on Thursday, October 15 at 4:00 pm
The family will welcome family and friends at Maher's funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St in Campbellton on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00, and on Thursday at the Listuguj Community Development Center from 3:00 until time of Celebration of Life at 4:00.
