I was so sad and shocked to hear of Steven’s  passing. You have all been through so much with the recent passing of your Mum/Nan. 

My memories of Steven are his love for skiing and tennis. 

Let’s pray that Steven is in a better place!

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Steven’s passing.  Whenever we met he always had a smile and something nice to say. He was involved in everything going on, helping out however he could. All around a great person who will be missed by many…..gone too soon-may he rest in peace.

With most sincere condolences going out to Stacy, Emma-Jane and husband, Jeremy, as to Steven’s extended family and friends. Steven and I attended our many years of grade school together and traveled in the same circle of close friends. A huge music fan, if there was a small gathering of us back then, there was no question as to who would be in charge of the turntable and the music selection - “Roadhouse Blues” will be forever his in his desire to play the harp. Funny, charming and never short of a kind word, he was always with a smile and a heartfelt hug when running into one another anywhere in Campbellton over the years that followed. Rest in peace, Steven.  Your light will shine on in all of us who got to call you “friend”, and you will be sadly missed. ♥

Stacey I am so sorry to know that you have lost your mother and brother.  What a painful time.
I was very sad to hear about Steven’s death.  While we were in high school together, I got to know him better in Whistler.  He loved being a ski instructor in Whistler and was very committed to teaching and entertaining his guests.  Every time we crossed paths while he was teaching we proudly shared that we went to high school together in Campbellton New Brunswick and we learned to ski at Sugarloaf NB, not Sugarloaf Maine! His clients would laugh and look amazed but didn’t have a clue what we were talking about given that they were from all corners of the globe.  He was always up for a chat, a quip, a joke. I really loved running into him. Over the last 15 years or more he took very good care of his health and was open about this being his priority. He worked hard at it and had an exceptional run of healthy years.
He was always generous and I have my own copy of one of his drawings he wanted me to have. He was proud of his artistic side, especially Rabiton.
He loved to be outdoors and he shared it with thousands of people through tennis and skiing. We will all miss him and have some gratitude that we got to know him even a bit. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Steve!  He was a ski instructor in whistler and was a bright light and friendly character on the slopes! He will be sadly missed and his friendly smile will be sorely missed!  Sending condolences to the family!

Although I haven’t seen Steven  since moving from Campbellton,  I have great memories of the chats we’d have.Wether that was at Sugarloaf Park, or around the city, it was always interesting .  Steven always had a smile . I remember him telling me about his job with ski instruction.He seemed happy with that opportunity, and I was happy for him.  My sincere sympathy is extended to Steven’s family members.

A beautiful obituary to one great guy whom we came to embrace like family. Steve was a huge help when he journeyed with us through  health challenges and like the true instructor he was, helped John prepare for heart surgery. His talents were amazing and he, least of all,  knew his true worth. We have to say good-bye too soon but he will never be forgotten and, as others have also said, he will live on in the great memories he made with his friends who were like family. If there is a Whistler Blackcomb on the other side of "the curtain" we visualize him taking on the best of the slopes. We hope someone has and or will,  take on the challenge of preparing and tending to the Sugarloaf tennis courts with the love and attention to detail with which he did so. He set the bar high when it came to shovelling the white stuff and making our residential walkways absolutely perfect. The greeting cards he designed were works of art. His own art will continue to adorn a few places  in Campbellton, Fredericton and Whistler together with many other unknown  places.
We hope Steve rests in peace,  yes,  but continues to "live the dream" however it is done after the early life ends.
We'll be  forever grateful for the inspiration he  gave  us and all that he did for us.

Stacy and family.  Ive known Steve since school, so a good many years.  Steve, how do you not think of him and smile.   He always was one to chat but in the last number of summers I had pleasure of watching him work the courts  at Sugarloaf.  He found pleasure in talking to people, sharing his winters and comparing snowfall, Whistler had more but he liked to let me know how lucky Campbellton was to have Sugarloaf Park in the back yard.  Not long after arriving home he would make his way to the Park to say hi.  Always stopping by office saying 
" I'm just checking in and how are you doing".  Always happy go lucky!  A great volunteer and he often gave more than he expected back.

Thank you Steve, you will not be forgotten.

Steve and I shared an outdoor office years ago at Whistler Blackcomb. While waiting for guests, I got to know Steve well and boy was he a good storyteller indeed! We had some great laughs about life, hockey and our Maritime connections. 

I was also injured for a decent part of that season but rocking up to morning lineup, I always found a sense of peace around him. I'm grateful he helped keep my spirits up during those times. 

My condolences to the family during this time. I hope you're skiing the best lines up above Steve. Thanks for always being a warm and welcoming face on those cold winter mornings.

How appropriate that Steven's Celebration of Life will be held at the Sugarloaf Park tennis courts!  I only got to know Steven fairly late in life but I enjoyed his company and his outlook on life.  I think he had business cards that announced his profession as "professional ski bum"!  My only regrets are not having known him sooner in life and now not having the chance to grow our  friendship.  I'll miss his kind and helpful soul.

Steve and I would chuckle over how we were cousins, a few times removed, and how our fathers were part and parcel of Campbellton's rich hockey history for decades. Steve was always up for a debate about anything and enjoyed stories about this, that and everything. He put a lot of effort in trying to revive the tennis scene in Campbellton and would tone down his game a new notches when he hit with an old fart like me. He was a great instructor and my son Austin enjoyed hitting with Steve as often as he could. Small places like Campbellton need someone who has a passion for things like tennis. His passing is a loss to the community. RIP.

Hard to believe that someone with such spirit and vitality is no longer with us. Steve and I had some great adventures playing tennis tournaments throughout the Maritimes and Quebec. Later we reconnected through tennis when he moved to Toronto. He had a big heart and no one ever made me laugh as much as he did. He was truly one-of-a-kind.
