It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Therese Marie Ayles (nee Bourque) who passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the age of 87.
Born and raised in Campbellton New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse Bourque and the late Marguerite Drapeau. She was married to the late Justice Lewis C, Ayles for over 58 years.
She was the oldest of 7 children and had 7 children of her own. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she took great pride in her immediate and extended family. She lived most of her life in Campbellton and Fredericton, spending winters in Florida and her golden years at the Village Nursing Home in Campbellton.
Therese is survived by her seven children, Richard Ayles (Denise) of Campbellton, N.B., Louise Wirtanen ( Peter) of Upper-Stewiacke N.S., John Ayles (Sheona) of Quesnel B.C., Susan Scott (Paul) of Halifax N.S., Jeff Ayles (Gisele) of St. Catherines Ont., Patricia Scrouton (Doug) of Scarborough Ont. and Charles Ayles (Mary Lynn) of Fredericton, N.B. Her sisters Rose(Martin) Bernard, and Claudette(Coy) Lurette and her brothers Roger Bourque and Gerald Bourque. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her sisters Noella Meade and Gabrielle O'Neil
Therese was a loving wife and enjoyed travelling with Lewis. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with her 15 grandchildren and her 18 great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends.
The funeral to celebrate her life will be held at the Saint Thomas Aquinas church in Campbellton at 11am on Saturday.
Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Campbellton Village Nursing Home.
