Danny was born August 1, 1960 in Aurora, Colorado to Sheila Brown Irons and David Andrew Irons. He was raised in Dallas, Texas by his mother, sharing a home with her, his two sisters, and his grandparents, Granny and Pop. He graduated from the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. He also attended Video Technical Institute, studying electronics. He worked in various careers, but his favorites involved music, including being the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter in several bands throughout the years (The Hounds and 8 Possum Tuesday), as well as being a karaoke deejay. Danny knew how to captivate an audience and had an abundance of talent. Danny’s charisma, charm, fun-loving personality, sense of humor, clever sarcasm, and wonderful singing voice made him the perfect karaoke host, and it was through his karaoke connections that he gained a strong group of friends that became like family. He was genuine and he truly cared about people.
The moment that changed his life forever was on June 4, 1992 when his daughter, Gable Danielle Irons, was born. Gable, Bogey or B as he called her, was the light of his world and it was obvious how much they both adored each other. From the moment she came into the world, Danny was a doting father, and he really knew how to make any time spent together with her meaningful and special. He was the Dad who would take her swimming, spend hours at the park, go on nature walks, and teach her about all sort of things that would encourage her to use her imagination and intelligence, as well as the Dad who would do anything to make her laugh. With both of them being highly intelligent people, they really had a deep connection and had long, thoughtful conversations. Danny was so proud of her accomplishments, and she was his greatest joy and love of his life. They shared a love for The Beatles, classic rock music, and astronomy. Danny was a big fan of the Dallas Stars and the Texas Rangers and liked to attend their games. He also enjoyed bowling, Star Trek, Monty Python, and the Three Stooges. Danny loved to laugh, and had a warm, kind-hearted personality that endeared him to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Gable Danielle Irons; mother, Sheila Irons; sisters, Kathy Irons and Tammy Burns; nephews Jason White and Jeff White; nieces Shelby Day and husband Stephen, and Rebecca Morrill and husband Brandon; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, other beloved family members, and a multitude of friends that he considered family.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved fiancée, Stephanie Wier; grandparents, Leonard and Claire Brown aka Granny and Pop; father, David Irons; niece, Courtney Burns; uncle, Ed Brown; and cousin, Jennifer Brown Comeaux.
Danny will be honored with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
