Florence Marie Ware

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Florence Marie Ware on May 7, 2017. She was born in Amarillo, TX to Fellix and Ethel Ledwig. Florence graduated from Groom High School in 1949 and went on to Texas Woman’s University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Nursery Education. She graduated with honors. On June 15, 1959, she married the love of her life, Sterling Thomas Ware and on October 1, 1961 they were blessed with a son, Jason Thomas Ware. In 1987, Florence moved to Dallas, TX after the death of her husband. In her spare time, she loved reading, gardening, playing the piano and reading to children. Florence is preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her son, Jason (Susan) of Plano, TX; daughters, Sammye Ware Dunn (James) of Burleson, TX and Karen Ware Erickson of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Ralph Ledwig of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Bernie McNiel of El Paso, TX and Elaine Chapman of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Shane Ware of Austin, TX, Preston Ware of Plano, TX, Luke and Billie Dunn of Austin, TX and Shawn and Connie Dunn of Indonesia. A Visitation will be held on Friday May 12, 2017 at Christus St. Joseph Village in Coppell at 12:00 pm with a Funeral Mass following at 1:00 pm.
