Saddened by the loss of Denny. When it hurts the most, I remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 1... If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!  I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;  but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.  Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.
Denny is home at last....!

I remember when Megan, our daughter was having open heart surgery at two years of age and it was a difficult, high risk surgery.  Pastor Denny Slaughter was standing beside me, his arm around my shoulders as we looked out at rain falling on the waiting room windows.  His presences, his comfort and his reassurance that God had her in His hands carried us through this extremely tough day.  Denny was a wonderful pastor and always a joy to be around him.  He is loved and remembered.  A life well lived.
