Margaret Kuehn Owens

Margaret Ann (Kuehn) Owens and known by most all who loved her as “Schatzie”. Born on June 2nd, 1934, in Dallas, TX passed away peacefully on February 3rd, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Ella (Ernst) Kuehn. Her beloved husband of 43 years, James Clinton Owens also preceded by her close cousin Jean Ernst.

Survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Pamela James and her husband, Allen; Gary Owens and Danny Owens and his husband, Daniel Guerra; granddaughter, Katie James; grandson, Jared James and his wife, D’awn James; great grandchildren: Claire, Connor, Cameron and Colin James, who all brought her endless joy.

Margaret attended Stonewall Jackson in Dallas where she showed such aptitude that she was promoted from 1st grade to 3rd grade. She went on to graduate from Woodrow Wilson at the young age of 16. Margaret began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and later worked at North Dallas Bank and Trust where she made very special friends. She married the love of her life, James, on February 5th, 1955, and together they built a warm and loving home while raising their family in Garland TX.

She had many talents. Writing was one of them and many friends cherished the birthday cards she sent with an occasional special poem. Her greatest passion was for music. She played the piano and enjoyed collecting records throughout her life. She was also a dedicated member of the Sons of Hermann. She served on the board in various positions for Lodge 22nd, volunteering and writing a column for their Texas circulated Newspaper. She formed many cherished friends along the way. She began her spiritual education at Saint Paul's E&R Church as a child and throughout her adult life was a member and attended several others. In her later years she returned to her childhood church home, where a memorial service will be held: St. Paul’s E&R Church, located at 6464 East Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX 75214. Service will be held on March 22, 2026, at 1:30pm.
