Marvin Banks was a grand husband, father and friend who generated a positive influence on those he touched. He experienced life fully, both personally and professionally. Marvin died August 18, 2016 in the presence of his family. Born in Washington, NC in 1939, Marvin grew to become a patriot serving in the armed forces before engaging most of his career for a subsidiary of Dow Chemical where he advanced to have sales responsibility on a national scale after stints in Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, Dallas, TX and Indianapolis, IN. His second career also engaged with people as a realtor with the McKinney, TX office of Ebby Halliday Realtors. Marvin practiced his faith in God humbly as a member at First McKinney Baptist. His passing provides heaven with a new angel and the night sky with a new star. Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Alice, and his loving children Marvin Jr, Steve, Scott and Stephanie along with their spouses and children. We thank all who touched Marvin's life, for he is the sum of his experiences - and wonderfully so. A service honoring and celebrating Marvin's life will be held on August 22, 2016 at 1:00 in the Worship Center sanctuary at First McKinney Baptist and can be viewed online at www.firstmckinney.com/live. Donations in Marvin's memory may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org, American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or to First McKinney Baptist Church at www.firstmckinney.com.
