

Patsy Sue Brown passed away peacefully on , July 14th at 4:24pm. She was 90 years old. Pat (as she was known to friends and Spunky Gma to her grandkids) was born in 1935 to James and Ruth Millikan in Dallas, Texas and was the youngest of six.
Pat went to high school at All Saints Episcopal Girls School and graduated in 1952 and was high school Valedictorian. She then graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree.
On January 28, 1956 she married Edward McLain Brown, Jr. and they raised three children. They lived in Austin, Lamesa and then finally settled in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Family, service and a deep faith formed the cornerstones of Pat’s life.
She was very active in Bill Glass Prison Ministries and was awarded the Bob Asbell award of service from her home church, First Baptist Church Carrollton at the Fields. She was a Sunday school superintendent, involved in the Civic League of Farmers Branch, where she served as President in 1970 and a lifelong member of Alpha Phi. She was a founding member of the Northwest Republican women’s club. She taught Sunday school from 1957 to 2024. Pat boldly lived for Jesus and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel with those she interacted with.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Edward McLain Brown, Jr., her parents Ruth Knight Patterson and James Robert Millikan, her siblings Helen Millikan, Sam Millikan, Tom Millikan, Jean Winget and Elaine Mathes.
Pat is survived by her three children: Carol Brown Metz, Ruth Hatherly (husband Bruce), David Brown (wife Terri) and four grandchildren and two step grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 21stat 2:00 at First Baptist Church Carrollton at the Fields.
