

Concepcion Sotelo, 84, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Phoenix. She was usually calledConchita or Connie by family and friends. She was born December 8,1931, in Sahuaripa, Sonora,Mexico, to Ubaldo & Catalina Amaya. She came to Ajo in 1954 from Hermosillo in Mexico andlived here most of the rest of her life. On August 28, 1954, she was united in marriage with Noel R.Sotelo. Mrs. Sotelo was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church."Conchita was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who was also knownfor her generosity," said her family. "She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed baking her delicious pastries. Most days she could be seen walking all around town; with energy. She touched many hearts and was loved by all. Conchita will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts."She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel R. Sotelo, who died February 24, 1992; byher infant son Albert Sotelo; by her parents, Ubaldo & Catalina Amaya; by her brothers, Rogelio,Rene, and Rodolfo Amaya; by her sisters, Eva, Rosario, Adelina, and Consuelo; and by her grandson, Sgt. Philip Workman. She is survived by her sons, Saul Sotelo of Happy Jack,Mark Sotelo of Silver City, New Mexico, and Gary Sotelo of Page; by her daughters, EnoéMarcum of Phoenix, Elvia Ring of Casa Grande, Dalia Mathis of Tucson, and Pamela Tallant ofAjo; by her brothers, Rodimiro Amaya, Ramiro Amaya, and Ruben Amaya, all of Hermosillo,Mexico; by her sister, Cecilia Wall of Lodi, California; and by her 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-granchildren.Visitation will be held at Douglass Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14. Rosary will be recited in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 15. Mass will be celebrated thereby Father Peter Nwachukwu at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ajo Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.Arrangements are being made by J Warren Funeral Services,Douglass Funeral Home in Ajo, Arizona.
