Born in Shelby, Iowa, the daughter of George and Grace Schuster. She was a high school business teacher in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She later was a volunteer librarian at the Womens Club of Casa Grande and was librarian for Casa Grande Union High School, Pinal County and city of Casa Grande. She and her late husband, Amandus "Pete", traveled nearly around the world twice. She loved sifhing where there was water, but she preferred ocean fishing in Mexico and California. She enjoyed bridge and was active in Catholic Women's organizations and causes.
