Melissa Romona Lopez, born on March 31, 1968, in Sacaton, Arizona, passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 57. Melissa was known for her compassionate, humorous, selfless, kind-hearted, brave, and thoughtful nature.
Melissa was a caregiver at heart, a trait that defined her personally. Her love for music, especially Brentwood, was well-known, and she enjoyed long walks and horror movies. Melissa was known for her contagious laugh and smile, often found sharing memories, hanging out at the park, or catching up with people outside Food City.
She was funny and full of love, especially for her grandchildren, her dog Holly, and anyone who needed a little kindness. Melissa could often be found with a cold drink in her hand, cracking jokes and sharing stories. Her life was filled with challenges, which she faced with fierce loyalty to her family. In her later years, Melissa lived with her daughter and grandchildren, traveling between Texas and Arizona, creating new memories and adventures along the way. Her spirit lives on in the stories, laughter, and hearts she leaves behind.
Melissa is survived by her children: Salina, Andrea, Micheal, Annalissa, Gabriella, Gabriel, David Lopez, Stephanie Lopez- Monarrez and Adrian Torres. Her sister Theresa Lopez-Real, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her Mother Lola Lopez and Father Leonard Lopez, a son Alonzo Lopez and five siblings, Esther M. Torres; Shirley Ann Brent; Arthur Lopez Sr; Theodore Lopez and Monica Armstrong.
