
Daniel Sylvester McDonald of Napavine, WA was born November 28, 1925 and passed away on July 27, 2011.
Daniel “Dan/Mac/Les” was born in Paige, North Dakota to Daniel and Agnes McDonald. He lived in Pacific County most of his life where he owned and operated McDonald Construction, a General Contractor. After retirement he moved to Napavine, WA. He enjoyed traveling with his wife June and their cats, Baby and George to many different states sightseeing and visiting family.
Dan served in the US Army as a Parachutist and Rifleman in 1945. He was a 50-year member of the Newaukum Grange and also a member of the Eagles.
Dan is survived by his wife June, daughters Carol Nelson of LeBam, Karen Hodel of Frances and sons, Daniel “Butch” and LeRoy of Frances, his eldest sister Della Wilson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. 5 sisters and 3 brothers preceded him in death.
A Military Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00am at the Napavine Cemetery, with Father Paul Keach officiating. A memorial gathering follows at the Newaukum Grange Hall in Chehalis. Funeral arrangements are in care of Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
