Esther Marie Haubrick, 95, of Centralia, passed away October 12, 2022 at home. She was born October 18, 1926 to Edward and Grace LeDoux in Brainerd, Minnesota. She was one of 16 children, 10 brothers; Wilfred, Leonard, Louis, LeRoy, Lester, Vernon, Herold, Gerald, Raymond, and Elmer; five sisters; Mable, Vera, Agnes, Gladys and Hazel.
February 13, 1943, Esther married Leo Haubrick in Brainerd, Minnesota. A statement to their dedication, they shared 56 years of marriage and eight children; Darlene (Jim) Tripp, Carol (John) Snyder, Bonnie (John) Straling, David Haubrick, Mark (Gina) Haubrick, Brian (Denise) Haubrick, Karen (Jim) Reeder, and Scott Haubrick.
Taking pride in her job, Esther was a counselor at Maple Lane School in Rochester, and retired at the age of 62. She took pleasure in delivering communion to members of her church, sewing projects, puzzles with anyone who would join; she was always volunteering at church. Esther loved hot tea and babies; lays potato chips and cheese balls were offered to anyone who stopped by (even if they were stale). You could often find her playing the card game “Rummy” or sharing her wall of crosses and angels. Photos of family cover the walls. Esther always cared and her smile lit up wherever she ventured. She will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by her Husband, Leo Haubrick; Daughters, Darlene Tripp and Bonnie Straling; and Grandchildren, Christine, Billy, and Johnny.
Esther’s survivors include her six children, 34 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be held November 4th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Centralia, with an open casket on that day from 10AM-11AM. Mrs. Haubrick will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Sticklin Funeral Chapel, Centralia. Please join the family for a potluck reception at 1PM in the Borst Park Kitchen #1.
