

Surrounded by family, Hazel Beatrice Dunlap went with peace to the Lord on May 27, 2013. Beloved mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, she was born in Rudolph, Wisconsin to Merritt and Nettie (Stewart) Denniston, where she attended local schools. After finishing high school, she worked at Preway for the Defense Department. On September 25th, 1945 she married Victor Meinberg, having six children together. They divorced in 1970. Hazel was an accomplished cook; working at many restaurants and for the school district. Country Cousin’s restaurant named one of their omelets after her. “Hazel’s Omelet” continues to be a favorite. She enjoyed trips to the coast, Riffe Lake, hunting at the family camp, watching the hummingbirds and spending time with her entire family. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. On July 3rd 1971, she married Richard Dunlap of Galvin. With this union came four step-children for mom to love; Melody, LuAnn, Rick and John. Hazel is survived by her daughters Joy (Howie) Shuckhart, Souix Falls, SD; JoAnn (Harold) Copeland, Aberdeen, WA; Vicki (Jeff) Jewell, Hoquiam, WA; Debbie Dillon, Aberdeen, WA; sons Dave (Barbara) Meinberg, Middletown, NJ; Jim Meinberg, Tenino, WA; and Mike (Liz) Meinberg, Tenino, WA; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also her dearest friend for many years Millie Holsen in Wisconsin.
Preceding her in death were her late husband Richard and two grandchildren.
Per Hazel's wishes, no funeral service will be held, but the family would like to invite all who knew Hazel to join them in a celebration of her life on Saturday, June 22nd at The Quarry House in the Tenino City Park from 1-4 p.m.
