

Jim was born on November 11, 1938, in Mannford, Oklahoma, to Fern (Burgess) and M. R. Bowen.
Jim joined the Navy where he worked as a nuclear power plant components welder and a submarine repairman. He and his family moved to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in 1973, where his daughter Kathy was born. Eventually he moved back to San Diego, CA., Where he retired from the Navy in 1977. The family then moved to Everett, WA where he went to work for Western Gear, as a welder. He later bought a house on Silver Lake and started working for Boeing. After several years, he moved to the WA Peninsula, where he went back to work for the Navy as a welder in Bremerton. After retiring again, he moved to the Chehalis area.
Jim and Carol were married on April 5, 1999, and eventually bought a house in Pe Ell, WA. They enjoyed traveling, fishing, and hunting together. Jim also really loved woodworking, he would build things, and Carol would paint them.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Merrilly Robinson, Tony Bowen, Lonnie Bowen, and J.D. Bowen.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; Children, Danny, David, and Kathy; Step-sons, Dan and Bobby Williams; Sisters, Betty Stevensen, Etta Witwick, and Eileen Wojtyna; and other extended family.
