John ”Jack” W. Jones, 77, of Salkum, passed away on August 11 at Riverside Nursing Home, Centralia. Jack was born to Bill and Myrtle (Dunn) Jones on December 14, 1937 in Naches, WA. Jack attended Puyallup High School after which he served our country in the United States Air Force. Jack was the Chief of Detectives for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years retiring in 1987. On June 28th, 1957, Jack married the love of his life, Nancy Spencer in Puyallup, WA. Together they had 3 children.
Jack was very proud to be a part of the Lewis County Search and Rescue and Chehalis Eagles for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter and a longtime member of the Jeep Club, racing 4 wheel drive vehicles.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Jack is survived by his sons; Lance Jones and wife Julie, Larry Jones and wife Cindy, daughter; Jackie Jones and husband Randy, and 4 grandchildren.
