I'm sadden to find this out. We are cousins. I'm Pearl Ruth Bowmans daughter. I contacted Leon about a year ago and we were supposed to meet up. I regret that we never did. My heart goes out to his family and all my prayers are for their healing. I'm just learning of his passing now in October. 2022. RIP Leon.

I remember Leon as that rare vestige of an earlier era, a gentleman. His devotion and love for his family was evident in the pride he felt for his children and grandchildren. The Rotary motto, "Service Before Self," was embodied in Leon. He was a warm giant of a man, bigger than life, tender and sweet, caring for others through leadership and action. Bless his family and friends and all who miss him. His is returned to the loving embrace of Rose. Thank you, Leon, for setting the standard and showing us the way.

Today the world celebrates the life and memory of Prince Philip of England. but the Bowman and Isbell families celebrate the life of our own prince consort, Leon Bowman. It’s almost impossible for me to say Leon without adding “and Rose” because for so many years it was Leon and Rose, or Rose and Leon. They were the consummate hosts, friends, movers and shakers, even persisting through health challenges. As Rose’s cousin, I remember many family gatherings and reunions at their home. They were always such gracious and giving host and hostess, looking to make each of their guests comfortable, But their influence extended far beyond family. They were a force for good in their community and the world as well. Blessed is the memory of Leon Bowman, and his queen, Rose.

Leon was my favorite uncle, he was my mother Wanda(Bowman)Hickenbottom's baby brother. He was 15 years younger than her, so to her truly the baby of the family. He went to Oregon and Idaho with us in 1957 and we all became really close to him. I will surely miss him. He built his business and family strong. I always asked him when he was going to move back to Oklahoma so we could visit more often and he said that he loved Washington and would never move back. He was a wonderful person and flying high with the Angels now. Until we meet again, I Love you ❤️💜 God bless his family.

So sorry to hear   Went all the way through grade school and high school with Leon  a lot of great memories. He started out being Donald but since there were 4 Donald’s in our class he was called Leon from then on   Wonderful memories of this man. Cant believe some of the things we done in high school. Sending prayers to the family
