

Norman was born on January 26, 1948, in Bertha, Minnestota, to Ruebin and Inez (Beiries) Thorpe. Norman attended Clarissa High School in Clarissa, Minnesota, and graduated in 1966. He enlisted in the US Army in 1968, and served our country proudly in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He was a Mill Worker in Anchorage, Alaska, and in Washington State. In later years, he worked as a Seafood Processor in Westport, Washington.
Norman was known for his love of fishing and working on cars. He enjoyed watching Westerns on television, too, especially Bonanza.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruebin, in 1977, and Inez, in 1999.
Norman is survived by his daughters, Tiffanie Thorpe and Sheila Nichols; sisters, Irene Bushnell of Oakville, Washington, and Phyllis Hines, of Wisconsin; brother, Byron Thorpe of Olympia, Washington; nieces and nephews, Shelia, of Willard, Missouri, Jamis, of Ketchikan, Alaska, Max, of Oakville, Washington, Michael, of Centralia, Washington, and Joey and April, of Ohio; and many more uncles, aunts, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Due to current Government restrictions, inurnment will take place at a date to be announced later, at Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Eagle Bend, Minnesota.
