Bruce Wilke Gibson

Bruce Gibson age 74 of Mint Hill, NC formerly of Endicott, NY passed away on March 26, 2017 of cancer. He is survived by his wife Ann of 53 years; his son Bruce; daughter-in-law Jennifer; his beloved grandchildren Gabriella and William; brother John Leary; sister Jackie Leary and other cherished relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his brother Ronald Gibson. He took pride in being a mentor and role model and was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all that knew him.

He worked at IBM in aerospace and aeronautics (B52 program), moved to Manassas, VA where IBM became a pioneer in the field of sonar and submarines (first Trident class ballistic submarine). He rose through layers of mid and upper level management before being selected for executive management at corporate headquarters. He was a key member of a small group that implemented outsourcing at IBM. He retired in 1998 after 36 years with IBM.

He was a consultant for 3 years after his retirement from IBM. He then formed a partnership that consisted of several small business ventures.

A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 am April 6, 2017 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Endicott, NY. Internment at Riverhurst Cemetery immediately following. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Pucedo Funeral Home on Wednesday April, 5th.
