

Preceding her in death are her parents Robert and Susan Owens, her husband of 47 years Henry Paul Stone Sr., her brothers Jasper Owens, Wilbur Owens, David Owens, and Bobby Owens, and sisters Mabel Osborne, Hazel Carnes, and Lois Elkins.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Ronald Raybon (Janet), granddaughters, Mary Raybon and Natalie Honeycutt (James), and great grandson, Luke Honeycutt of Gastonia, NC.
Other family members left to cherish Carolyn’s memory are step daughter, Gail Hege (Jeff) of Calabash, NC and step son, Henry Paul Stone Jr. (Dyanne) of Lumberton, NC, step grandchildren, Dawn Stone Pleasant, Laura Collins (Rian), Marcia Floyd (Calvin), Amy West (Steve), and Robert “Robby” Freeman (Vanessa). She also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Carolyn’s surviving siblings include Raymond Owens (Lucille) of Sumter, SC, Rachel Everitte of Parkton, NC, Maurice “Buck” Owens of Biloxi, MS, and Grace McDonald (William) of Raeford, NC.
A special thanks to her buddy and caregiver Helen Fuller, as well as the team from Atrium Hospice of Union County.
Carolyn lived in Lumberton, NC until 2017 when she moved to Mint Hill, NC to live with her son. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton until her move where she then became a member at Mint Hill Baptist Church. She was co-owner of Paul Stone Auto Parts in Lumberton for many years where she worked alongside her late husband Paul. Carolyn enjoyed traveling and took many trips with Paul and friends exploring the world. She was an active member in First Baptist Church, a member of the Circle of Friends Sunday School Class, and could often be found filling shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse or making meals for sick or bereaved friends. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Carolyn was very family oriented and often held many family gatherings in her home. She was a very dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to those she loved so dearly.
A visitation will be held at Mint Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10 am to 11 am with a memorial celebration of Carolyn’s life to follow at 11 am. A graveside service will be held later that afternoon at 4 pm at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
