David was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and grandmother, Gladys.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara; children, Josh and Ann Michelle; grandchildren, Addison and Damian; brothers, Randy and Scott; and a half-sister, Mary Regina.
A service to celebrate David’s life will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home until 9:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207, or to the children’s charity of the donor’s choice.
