

He was born on March 27, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana, a son of Duane and Lucile Melady.
Denny proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 3 years as an Air Force mechanic during the Vietnam War. He then returned home and worked for Ford Motor Company, transferred to Memphis, TN with Ford and then on to North Carolina to start his own company Enterprise Truck and Trailer Sales, Inc. He then returned to Ford for a number of years before his retirement.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol whom he married right after high school and sister Lorene.
He is survived by his daughter Alicia, his son in law Eddie, grand children Riley, Brianna and Sierra, sister Luanna, brothers, David (Marilyn) and Duane Ray (Linda) and many nieces and nephew. Along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him but are grateful for the time that they knew him.
At the family’s request there will be no service at this time, he will be cremated at McEwen Funeral Home and buried with his wife Carol at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, which he never gave as “flowers die and love never does”, please donate to a Veterans organization or to a cancer organization, both were very near and dear to his heart.
