Doris Negron, age 68, of Charlotte, NC, transitioned peacefully at home with family on May 31, 2025.
Doris was born to Anna Lozano and Ramon Antonio Negron on Sunday, February 17, 1957 in the borough of the Bronx in New York City. She was raised by her grandmother, Anna Lopez who instilled the qualities of who she would become. She graduated from Dodge Vocational High School for photography and played basketball. She was offered a scholarship to Cornell University to pursue her passion for caring for animals in veterinarian studies but did not attend due to her grandmother passing when she was 17. This event in her life set and created her will for independence.
On her 23rd birthday she gave birth to her baby girl (Nena), Adrian Negron and relocated to Charlotte, NC to raise her daughter. She maintained a career in food preparation for the airlines to the most upscale restaurants in the city and catering that lead to preparing meals for celebrities.
At the age of 45 she was blessed with her grandson, Christian Negron. His birth changed her perspective of life and shared the full time responsibility to raise him pridefully. Seven years later, she experienced a heart attack in April of 2008. In years thereafter, she found herself in early retirement, which shifted her scope on life. That scope was her family. Anyone that has had just a moment of time with her know that she loved unconditionally. Any advice or life lessons she could offer she gave with a open heart.
She had a love for old black and white classics, sci-fi and old horror flicks and most of all caring for animals. She expressed her love through cooking and the presentation of meal. She knew the true meaning of feeding you love.
In the last two years of her life, her heart may have been put on a timeline but her love and will to have a quality of life did not. She accomplished and experienced beautiful new beginnings. She saw people beyond the surface and learned the value of forgiveness. Her spiritually and will to live a full qualitive life was her purpose until her passing.
Her smile and laugh will never be forgotten.
Doris is survived by her wife, Maria (Alejandra) Cruz; daughter, Adrian Negron Hill; grandson, Christian Negron; son-in-law, DeShawn Hill, and his children; family, Leslie Hood - Starr and Adrienne Starr; and her sister, Belinda Dupre.
